Barcelona is a city steeped in culture and history, so if you want a bit of sightseeing then you've come to the right place. Barcelona is famous for the beautiful architecture of Antonio Gaudi, whose buildings are scattered around the city center. The most famous and impressive can be seen along Passeig De Gracia where you will find La Pedrera and Casa Batllo or go to Parc Guell which is a magnificent park designed by the man himself. However, the most impressive work is arguably Gaudí's Sagrada Familia, the huge temple not yet finished. You can not help but feel humbled by so imposing and ambitious project, the detail on the exterior walls is simply amazing, but beware, if you are afraid of heights do not be tempted to climb to the end of the turrets.

Apart from Gaudi, Barcelona offers much in terms of architectural brilliance. The Gothic Area in the heart of the Gothic is something you should not miss. Walking around Barcelona you will find a feast of beautiful buildings, and also go out of Las Ramblas, there is much more to see just 2 minutes on both sides of this famous street.

Barcelona has many museums to keep happy. The MACBA and CCCB which is next door, worth to be visited and generally have good exhibitions every month. The exhibition of Picasso and Dali permanent display in the Gothic District are always popular. The Caixa Forum is a museum that has different art exhibitions every month. It is just outside of Plaça Espanya Avenida Marques de Comillos that is popular with the locals but it is ignored by tourists, which is a shame because it's great and free! About Caixa Forum is the MNAC which is very beautiful inside and out.

Another good place for the kids is Poble Espanyol on Montjuic is just above Plaça Espanya Poble Espanyol is a curious place, a village founded in 1929 to mimic different styles of Spanish regional architecture. There are many craft shops, and activities you can do such as glass blowing. Often there are also activities just for kids where you can let the little ones for a couple of hours, the last time I was there the activity was walking on stilts! And while you're in the area do not miss the Montjuic magic fountain of Montjuic, an extravaganza of music and light.
